English as a Second Language Workplace Training Certificate

These courses, designed for students whose first language is not English, concentrate on improving the Reading/Writing, Oral Communication, Computer, Employability, and the Workplace Readiness Skills required to communicate with instructors, colleagues, supervisors, managers, clients, or customers in a Health Care setting. Medical terminology and context will be central to all course materials, discussions, and activities. Students will explore aspects of culture, values and assumptions that are part of the Health-Care communication in the U.S. and contrast them with cultures represented in the classroom.
