| Phlebotomy Technician Training |

| Description: |
Prepare to work in the various aspects of healthcare phlebotomy: hospitals, clinics, outreach/home visits & Insurance chains. Students learn with a combination of classroom, with text book “Phlebotomy Essentials”, and “hands-on” labs to develop venipuncture skills, practice healthcare safety and communication skills. Students are expected to perform at least 15 venipunctures and 5 skin punctures. Students must perform at 75% or better on a pass/fail basis. This course prepares you to take the National Phlebotomy Examination for certification. 9.0 CEUs
Internship: An internship opportunity is available for high-performing students who earn an 80% or better on the comprehensive final exam. Details will be discussed during the class. There is an additional $68 administration fee.
Prerequisites: High School Diploma/GED or college assessment test, strong English skills, and documentation of a physical, TB test and at least the initial Hepatitis B vaccination, within the past year. CORI/SORI checks will be completed for each student. |
