| Description: |
This 50-hour course trains individuals to work in area hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, home health agencies, retail pharmacies and mail order providers. Technicians assist registered pharmacists in preparing traditional medications and monitoring proper delivery and usage of drug products. Prescription abbreviations, brand and generic drug names, classifications, calculations, IV medications, basic IV calculations, and pharmacy law are some of the topics covered. This course prepares you to take the National Certification exam. 5.0 CEUs
Prerequisites: High School Diploma / GED or college assessment test. Command of the English language and strong math skills, including Algebra, needed.
*Please note that the evening course runs until 9:30pm.
